Project Forward at Cape Cod Community College is a nationally recognized program for students with significant learning disabilities.

Horticulture students from Project Forward volunteer at Meetinghouse Farm for two to four hours a week (weather permitting) during the school year. Students are accompanied by a teacher and teacher assistant.

Students are introduced to horticultural vocabulary, use of hand tools and basic landscape maintenance.

Tasks including planting, weeding, watering, raking and pruning are completed with emphasis on following directions, attention to detail, task completion, teamwork and positive attitude.

 

Project Forward students were introduced to floral arranging basics in their final Farm visit of the 2014 Fall semester.
